Simple self-care between sessions

Clients often ask what they should be doing between appointments. My honest answer is usually less than you'd think - the goal is supporting the change, not adding another routine to your day.

Move a little, often

Five minutes of easy movement, a few times a day, does more for a body settling into a new pattern than one long workout. Walk to the end of the street. Roll your shoulders while the kettle boils.

Protect your sleep window

Sleep is when a lot of the nervous system's recalibration actually happens. If a session left you calmer, an early night that week helps that state stick rather than get overwritten by the next stressful day.

Notice before you push through

The body often gives a quiet signal - a twinge, a bit of fatigue - before it gives you an injury. Sessions tend to hold better when clients act on the quiet signal instead of waiting for the loud one.

None of this needs to be perfect. Consistency in small doses beats intensity you can't sustain.
